How to Read Deadlock’s Map: City, Lanes, Jungle and Objectives
This guide breaks down how to read the Deadlock map so you can rotate, contest objectives, and plan Deadlock jungle farming routes on sight. Note that the map diagram referenced here is community-reported and marked as a work in progress — locations are approximate, and the layout is expected to be refined over time. Treat everything below as a community-reported reference, not an official Valve layout.

1. Start with the three lanes
Deadlock’s city is built around three lanes that each run from your base to the enemy’s base:
- York
- Broadway
- Park / Greenwich
These lanes are connected by transit lines and verticality, meaning you can move between them through dedicated connectors and elevation rather than only walking the length of a lane. Knowing lane names lets you call rotations precisely (“rotate to York”) instead of describing positions vaguely.
2. Read the objective chain on every lane
Along each lane sit progressively stronger defenders that you must destroy in order before you can reach the enemy base:
- Guardians — the first line of defense on the lane.
- Walkers — tougher defenders that appear further up the lane.
- The Base — the final objective you must break through to win the lane push.
Because the order is fixed, you never skip a tier: clear the Guardian before the Walker, and the Walker before the Base. Plan your push timings around when the next defender in the chain is actually killable.
3. Decode jungle camps by their tier
Jungle camps are marked directly on the minimap as triangles, and the number of horizontal lines on the triangle tells you the camp’s tier:
| Triangle marking | Camp tier |
|---|---|
| Plain triangle (no lines) | T1 camp |
| Triangle with 1 line | T2 camp |
| Triangle with 2 lines | T3 camp |
Higher-tier camps generally sit deeper in the jungle and are tougher to clear, so match your farm route to what your hero can safely handle. This is the single most useful symbol for planning Deadlock jungle farming — scan for the triangles, read the lines, and you instantly know where the farm is.

4. Track the neutral and objective markers
The minimap legend also flags the key neutral and objective locations so you can plan rotations at a glance. Marked locations include:
- Base and Patron
- Shrine
- Guardian, Walker, and Base Guardian
- Mid Boss pit
- Soul Urn (spawn and drop-off)
- Shop
- Buff Spawn
- Sinner’s Sacrifice
- Teleporter
Use these markers together: a camp triangle near a Teleporter makes for a fast escape or rotate, while the Mid Boss pit and Soul Urn timing tell you when to break off farming and contest an objective instead.
5. Build your farm route around the map
Now combine the pieces into a plan:
- Prefer the lane you can survive and farm the camp tiers your hero clears efficiently.
- Use transit lines and verticality to chain jungle camps quickly instead of backtracking the whole map.
- Keep one eye on objective markers (Mid Boss, Soul Urn, Buff Spawn) so you can leave the jungle to contest them.
- Route past a Shop when you need to spend, and keep a Teleporter in mind as your exit.
Because the map diagram is community-reported and still being refined, verify timings and exact positions in-game rather than treating any single placement as fixed.

Quick tips
- Learn the three lane names first — it makes every rotation call clearer.
- The triangle’s line count is your fastest cue for camp difficulty.
- Objectives beat farming: farm toward a marker, not away from it.
- Treat all positions here as approximate community data, not official.
